Management Consultant Full Time / Part Time / Free Lancer

Management consultants may perform the following tasks:
  • gather information on the function of each area within an organisation (and the specific duties undertaken by each individual) by talking with managers or supervisors and interviewing other staff
  • assess the types of tasks undertaken in each section, the methods or systems used, the length of time taken for an individual to complete a task and any problems involved in undertaking the task
  • consult internal training manuals, files and job descriptions to obtain additional information
  • study data such as statistical records, reports and organisational charts
  • identify problem areas and find solutions by considering alternatives, taking into account the benefits and costs of any recommendations
  • write detailed reports and provide statistical evidence to support their conclusions and recommendations
  • assist in the implementation of new systems
  • talk to experts in other fields when introducing new equipment such as computers.
Management consultancy work is sometimes carried out by people who are employed in another capacity, such as engineers, personnel workers, technicians, computer programmers or systems analysts.
When assessing an organisation's systems, they may have to work at that organisation's premises.

- Assist in developing Quality Management System - processes, procedures, objectives, Quality Manual, controlled documentation, records, functions and services to lead to ISO 9001:2008 certification.
- Assist in populating and manipulating the document control management tool.
- Develop an internal auditing program that leads to better operational performance, compliance with governance, and visibility of possible certification shortfalls.
- Identify and address, with the senior leadership, organizational issues that hinder the development of a certified process-centric organization.
- Assist in developing appropriate in-process inspections and peer reviews to include criteria and recording.

These consultants should understand the work in areas that include marketing, human resources, management and accounting.
They help in improving companies through assessing weaknesses and recommending solutions.
Their role may include reviewing financial statements, evaluating competitors and analyzing business practices.
Once research is complete, these consultants may develop a new business model or prepare recommendations and present them.
ISO consultants should also provide an analysis of the existing practices of a company and make recommendations for improvements.
They should plan and carry out an audit in agreement with procedure as per ISO 19011: 2002. They collect intention confirmation by means of diverse techniques and settle on conventionality to the necessities of Quality Management System.
